The Japan Society of Boston invites our Members to join us for a tour of the MFA's exhibit Showdown! Kuniyoshi vs. Kunisada, before it closes on December 10th! Rival artists Utagawa Kuniyoshi (1797–1861) and Utagawa Kunisada (1786–1864) were the two best-selling designers of ukiyo-e woodblock prints in 19th-century Japan, and this exhibition showcases over 100 pieces of their work. Curator of Japanese Art Sarah E. Thompson will guide us through the exhibit on this special tour! Registration is limited to 10 people for this event, so be sure to sign up early.
We will be meeting just inside the MFA's Huntington Avenue Entrance at 4:15, and heading to the exhibit as a group at 4:30.
This is a special event for Japan Society of Boston Members. Not a member? Join today!
