About the event
Japan Festival Boston is an annual celebration of Japanese culture, including food, music, dancing, vendors, community organizations, interactive workshops, cosplay fashion shows, and much more. The first Japan Festival Boston was hosted in 2012, celebrating the 100th anniversary of the gift of cherry blossom trees from Tokyo to Washington D.C. Since then, it has grown to become the largest Japanese festival on the East Coast, run entirely by an independent group of volunteers.
