JSB Visits Boston Iaido

Interested in trying Japanese sword martial arts firsthand? JSB members are invited to a private session with local martial arts school Boston Eishin Ryu Iaido.

Iaido, the Way of the Sword, is the art of drawing and using the traditional Japanese sword. Iaido was practiced by the ancient Samurai for centuries. Did you know that actors on the 2024 hit period drama Shogun were instructed by masters from the Vancouver Iaido branch?

For our visit, Iaido masters will begin with a presentation to introduce the history and principles of Iaido and an explanation of their dojo and lineage, followed by a demonstration by members of the dojo. The majority of our visit will be a hands-on beginner Iaido workshop for any members who would like to try out Iaido for themselves.
