About the event
The Kamogawa is a river so small that it has no harbor and no boats can run on it. Nevertheless, for locals of Kyoto, it is a beloved gathering place where one may rest, recharge, and enjoy city life with others. Join the Kyoto Guide Club (KGC) for a virtual introduction to this one-of-a-kind communal locale in Japan’s most traditional city. Kyoto locals and KGC volunteers will explore why the Kamogawa is such a central spot for rest and recreation in Kyoto, much more so than the Seine in Paris or Thames in London. They will also answer questions for the curious traveler!
Co-Organizers: Kyoto City International Foundation - Kyoto Guide Club (KGC) Volunteer Group
