The Japan Society of Boston offers language programming intended to enhance your confidence in Japanese or English while building community connections.

The Japan Society of Boston has unfortunately decided to discontinue its Japanese language school.

For those interested in private (one-on-one) or semi-private

(2-4 people)* Japanese lessons, feel free to contact us at operations@japansocietyboston.org and we can put you in touch with our excellent former language instructors.

Thank you to all of our students for your support these last few years.

*Please note that semi-private lessons are for groups of people who already know each other and are interested in being tutored together. JSB and its former instructors are not able to bring individual students together to set up a semi-private lesson.

The JSB Language Room

The Japan Society of Boston Language Room provides the perfect community for you to build up your Japanese or English speaking ability, giving you confidence while introducing you to Japanese Language enthusiasts from all over the country.

Each month has its own theme, such as O-Hanami in the month of April. The Language Room is sorted into four ability groups: introductory, intermediate, advanced, and native speaker. The first half of the small group discussions is dedicated to speaking in Japanese, while the second half is dedicated to speaking in English. Following small group discussions is our bilingual networking session.
