About the event

Join us to discuss the Tale of Genji by Murasaki Shikibu.  We will be discussing Chapter 47 - 54 at this session.  You are welcome to read any versions you may have.  Please note that Arthur Waley and Suematsu Kencho editions are incomplete.

On January 17th, we will be discussing  the remaining eight chapters (the translation of the chapter titles are from Royall Tyler's edition):

About the Host:

Michelle Kyoko Crowson is an award-winning writer-translator and scholar of Japanese literature. She holds a PhD in Comparative Literature from the University of Oregon and an MFA from Vermont College. She is currently translating the collected works of the 18th century haikai poetess, Kaga no Chiyo.
