About the Event:

Join us for a month of screenings celebrating the works of visionary writer/director and Studio Ghibli co-founder Hayao Miyazaki!


We will be kicking things off with his newest film, The Boy and the Heron on May 1st, with special seminar and remarks by Tufts professor, Miyazaki expert, and JSB board member Susan Napier! Registration for the seminar portion which can be purchased as a package with screening tickets is available here.


Hayao Miyazaki's creations have inspired filmmakers and audiences alike over the last 30 years with beloved stories and breathtaking visuals. We're proud to collaborate with Coolidge Corner Theatre to present a number of these gorgeous films in 35mm!


The Coolidge Corner Theatre is an independent, nonprofit cinema and cultural institution with four screens and the capacity for over 700 audience members. Since 1933, audiences in the greater Boston area have relied on the Coolidge for the best of contemporary independent film, repertory, and educational programming.
