The Tobira Textbook
JSB Language Group Lessons use the Tobira Textbook System. There are three different books. Book 1 is used for Beginner 1 and 2. Book 2 is used for Intermediate, and Book 3 (Gateway to Advanced) is used for our Advanced level Japanese Courses.
If your class uses Tobira Beginning Japanese Volume 2, we will mail you a copy for free. Otherwise, please follow the links below to purchase your correct textbook for your course.
The course: Pre-Advanced Conversation, does not require textbook purchase. If you would however like a copy of the textbook used in this course, click the button below.
Policies
1. Tuition
Tuition is payable by credit card on the registration website.
Tuition is non-refundable for any reason after classes begin.
You are welcome to try out different levels during the first two weeks for free.
To receive the membership tuition rate, students must be members at the time of registration. Please note that JSB membership fees paid at the time of registration are non-refundable.
2. Class
Class size is minimum 4 students and maximum 8 students.
Classes cancelled due to inclement weather and other emergency situations will be rescheduled after the 10-week session.
Students must be at least 16 years old to be able to attend group classes. If you are younger than 16, we may be able to offer you private lessons.
Student contact information will be shared with our instructors for teaching and emergency purposes.

The language school and its instructors will not record the lessons on Zoom.
